As of early 2025, iFirm users can access the CCH AnswerConnect Question & Answers feature — a powerful tool that delivers:

  • AI-generated, editorially curated tax answers
  • Supporting source documents
  • Direct access within iFirm

Setting up and accessing CCH AnswerConnect Q&A in iFirm

  • Enable Access:

    • Go to User Settings in iFirm.
    • Under Security, add the security role "CCH ANSWERCONNECT-ACCESS" to the user.

  • Access CCH AnswerConnect:

    • In the left sidebar of iFirm, click on “CCH AnswerConnect”.
    • Type your question into the search bar and press Enter or click the magnifying glass icon to view the results.

 

Two Tiers of Access

CCH AnswerConnect in iFirm offers two levels of access depending on your subscription status:

  • Premium Access is available to CCH AnswerConnect subscribers. These users enjoy full access to the Q&A feature, including unlimited answers, full visibility of source documents, and enhanced features like clickable links and feedback options.

  • Freemium Access is for non-subscribers. These users receive limited access, with up to 3 free Q&A answers. After that, the user is no longer offered answers without a CCH AnswerConnect subscription.

Premium Access (CCH AnswerConnect Subscribers)

If you're an CCH AnswerConnect  subscriber with Question & Answer access, you're a Premium user. Here's what you get:

  • Unlimited answers
  • Full visibility of source documents
  • Clickable links (open in new tab)
  • Feedback options to improve answers
  • Access to Related Questions

Document Access Rules

  • Logged into CCH AnswerConnect  in the last 24h? → Documents open directly
  • Not logged in recently? → Prompted to log in
  • Outside your subscription? →  "No access" message is displayed within CCH AnswerConnect

Note: Premium access is tied to your CCH AnswerConnect  login, not your iFirm account.

Freemium Access (Non-Subscribers)

If you're not an CCH AnswerConnect  subscriber, you're a Freemium user. Your experience includes:

  • 3 free answers
  • Gated experience after the limit
  • Limit Reached message with access to trial or login option

Upgrading to Premium

Freemium users can upgrade by:

  1. Registering for a trial
  2. Purchase a CCH AnswerConnect subscription * 
  3. Logging into CCH AnswerConnect 

Once logged in:

  • Refresh iFirm to activate Premium
  • Answers reflect your CCH AnswerConnect  subscription

* Not all subscriptions include access to the CCH AnswerConnect Q&A feature. Be sure to let your sales representative know that you are interested in this feature.
